Culinary highlights and exclusive Glacier Bar

The trip starts with an aperitif platter and a glass of champagne to welcome passengers. This is followed by an exclusive 5-course menu with Alpine delicacies and local products prepared fresh in the on-board kitchen.

At the end of the carriage, you will find the heart of Excellence Class: the exclusive Glacier Bar. This is where you can enjoy fine cocktails and exquisite wines. A gold-plated compass dome is enthroned above the bar and rotates with every change of direction.

Welcome Desk and Concierge Service

It’s not only the view and the food that are excellent: you are welcomed personally on the platform and a concierge takes care of the well-being of the 20 passengers throughout the entire trip.

And you don’t have to worry about your luggage either. You can conveniently hand it in to the Welcome Desk and it will be stored for you in a separate luggage section.

The route
Excellence Class can only be booked between St. Moritz–Zermatt or Zermatt–St. Moritz.
St. Moritz → Zermatt8.39 am – 5.07 pm
Zermatt → St. Moritz8.52 am – 4.37 pm
(Excellence Class will not be running between 24.03. - 11.04.2025)
Price
When traveling in Excellence Class, you need a valid 1st class ticket/travel card for St. Moritz–Zermatt or Zermatt–St. Moritz.You also need a mandatory seat reservation costing CHF 490.

A great trip. . . . .
We were on the Glacier Express on March 20, 2024 and our expectations were more than exceeded. It was pure sunshine and the journey could begin. Our train attendants Elke and Andy were very friendly and warm. We were able to laugh with them and were very well informed about what there was to see. What there was to eat next and we were served very friendly. The seats in Excellence Class were just great. Comfortable and everything your heart could desire was there. The food and the accompanying wines were excellent, the highlight of the meal was the chocolate cake. . . it was soooo delicious and rounded off the whole menu.
